Mexican lawmakers hang anti-Donald Trump banner outside senate building

- Mexican senators are taking a stand against republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump.

Lawmakers in Mexico City hung an anti-trump banner outside of the senate building on Tuesday at a new conference.

The event was part of a campaign to stir pride in the country and to counter Trump's anti-Mexican rhetoric.

The campaign is using the hashtag, #mxcontratrump on social media platforms to increase awareness.

Mexican senator Miguel Barbosa launched the trending hashtag and says if Trump is elected president of the United States, it would, “put at risk the stability of peace on our planet."

The real estate mogul has sparked outrage in Mexico after vowing to build a wall along the southern U.S. border to keep out illegal immigrants.

Trump says he would force Mexico to pay for that wall if he wins the White House.
