Police: Man kills daughter, son-in-law in domestic-related shooting in Annandale

Fairfax County police said a 67-year-old man has been charged with murder after shooting his daughter and son-in-law during an argument at their Annandale home Wednesday afternoon.

Fairfax County police responded in force at around 1:30 p.m. when gunfire was reported inside a single-family home in the 3400 block of Beverly Drive. Investigators said Hiep Van Le fatally shot his son-in-law, Dang Ngo, 45, outside of the home, and his daughter, Sophia Le, 40, inside the house. Another family member inside the home called police after hearing the incident.

The female victim was taken to Inova Fairfax Hospital where she would later die from her injuries.

Two young girls and a teenage boy were inside the house when the shooting began, but ran out of the home and were later found by police. They were not injured.

The suspect was taken into custody inside the home. He has been charged with two counts of second-degree murder and transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.

Neighbors were urged to stay inside for about an hour while police searched the area to make sure that the suspect, who was located inside the home, was the only person with a gun.

"It's scary," said Ramzy Gibran, who lives in the neighborhood. "I've been living here now for 33 years and this is the first time this happened."
