The Mansion Murders, Episode 5: Chance

Didn't the Savopoulos family have a high-tech alarm system? What about their two dogs, and the pizza that was delivered to their home? There were so many moments of chance that family could have alerted someone to what was happening, and perhaps changed the course of events.

In Episode 5, we take a look at those moments of chance. We also talk with housekeeper Nelly Gutierrez. Wasn't she supposed to be at the home the day murders took place? Why did she never make it to the house?

Former FBI hostage negotiator Gary Noesner is also on Episode 5. Although Gary didn't work on this case, he was with the FBI for 23 years of his career, retiring as the chief of the Crisis Negotiation unit. Gary has a decorated career, including being one of the head negotiators for the famous Waco siege in 1993 that ended with 76 people being killed. Gary himself talked to Branch Davidian leader David Koresh. He gives us his opinion of this crime based on his review of public evidence.

Gary weighs in on the psychological response of the victims. How do people react when they're being held hostage-- especially when a child is involved. Plus, first-time interviews with a security guard that works in the Savopoulos' neighborhood, and a Domino's Pizza manager from the store where the Savopoulos family ordered the pizza.
