More and more children using hand sanitizer to get drunk

Doctors say using hand sanitizer to get drunk is a disturbing new concern that is becoming common among children.

Many of the children are younger than 12-years-old and experts say they do not realize the dangers of ingesting the sanitizer.

Poison control centers across the U.S. say they have seen a 400 percent increase in calls relating to children swallowing hand sanitizer.

Hand sanitizers typically contain 45 to 95 percent alcohol. By comparison, wine typically contains about 5 percent alcohol.
