Wedding photographer says mobile phone snapshots ruining ceremonies

A wedding photographer says mobile phone snapshots are ruining nuptials to the point that brides and grooms should consider banning them from future ceremonies.

Thomas Stewart of Thomas Stewart Photography posted his rant last week on Facebook. Along with his post, he added a photo that seemed to prove his point. The picture showed a groom struggling to catch a glimpse of his bride walking down the aisle. The reason he couldn’t see her was because the aisle was flooded with guests snapping photos with their smartphones.

Right, I've had enough. I want to talk to you all about guests using mobile phones / cameras at weddings. I want to...

Stewart makes four points he said couples should consider before allowing guest to take snap during their big day.

First, guests with phones and iPads get in the photographers way. Second, the same guests get in the couple's way causing them to miss moments of their own wedding. Third, mobile phone interview usually aren't that great. And lastly, your memories of your wedding shouldn’t be of guests holding up their smartphones.

Stewart says tells guests in the invitations that you are holding an unplugged ceremony.
