WASHINGTON - Beloved parenting expert, author and TV personality, Jo Frost -- the Supernanny -- is back with a new series.
She joined us with some need-to-know tips and for a preview of what the new show, 'Jo Frost: Nanny on Tour,' will focus on.
THE WHOLE FAMILY
The new series will follows Jo as she travels across America helping children of all ages – from newborns to teens – and focusing on the whole family. Families who turn for help are not only feeling desperate they are sometimes experiencing things for the first time – like a going away or making a move to a new house.
SURPRISED BY QUESTIONS
After years of helping families with their problems you might think the Supernanny has heard it all – not true. Every problem a family has is unique to them – and so are their specific circumstances. Stay-at-home-dads, technology overload, and embracing the challenges are always hot topics.
CORRECTING OTHER PEOPLE’S KIDS
If a child is in your care – then make sure you correct bad behavior. But if you’re out in a supermarket and another person’s child is misbehaving – it is the other parent’s responsible to correct them. But parents can offer other parents encouragement and help as needed.
Take away distractions and focus – encouragement – don’t give inappropriate words power, try to ignore.
"It's important for families to understand responsibility and accountability and what their roles are as parents," Frost said. "But it's also a new landscape for many parents as well. They don't have that education and that's what the show allows so many families to learn. Those important principles and values and also the techniques and tools we can apply to family to make the situation better."
