Lady Gaga's foundation ‘Born This Way' and U.S. Chamber of Commerce encourage ‘Workplace Kindness'

Cynthia Germanotta, mother of Lady Gaga and co-founder of 'Born This Way,' will host a series on the importance of workplace kindness in Washington, DC.

Created to support the wellbeing of young people and empower them to create a kinder world-- because we all know kindness makes the world go 'round and 'round-- Born This Way, established in 2012, has provided many "little monsters" improved mental health resources, positive school climates, and kinder communities.

That is why "Grandma Monster" and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce united forces on November 17, 2017 to emphasize on the power of kindness. Joined by other business leaders and community partners on why they are championing it in the workplace, Cynthia Germanotta hosted the forum "Business of Kindness."

Ever since Gaga publicly spoke on her struggles growing up, which affected her deeply as result of meanness and cruelty, many of her fans resonated with her story. So she and her mother have worked to create safe spaces for young people to have positive environments.

Cynthia told FOX 5's Annie Yu that many of these kids are growing up and now entering the workplace, which has promoted their collaborative work with The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation, who noted on their website, "We're coming together with a simple call to action: Invest in kindness."

In addition to creating safe spaces and providing resources, Born This Way has introduced "Channel Kindness" where youth reporters are trained to highlight on acts of kindness and goodness in their communities.

When asked about her daughter, Cynthia told Annie "Stefy" has always been a very compassionate person. "She's the 5-year-old that was consoling someone who was crying in kindergarten."
