#gottahearthis: Cover Drive heats up downtown DC with free Monday morning concert!

What's the best way to heat up a chilly fall Monday morning, when you'd really rather stay in bed? Two words: Cover Drive! They brought their island sound all the way from warm Barbados to play for us LIVE in downtown DC!

Cover Drive played a free show outside Metro Center station at 12 th and G Streets NW, and they were live on Good Day DC all morning long. FOX 5's own Wisdom Martin and Erin Como were there dancing and singing (without mics, naturally) along, and our official event hashtag #gottahearthis was even trending in DC throughout the morning.

They're originally from Barbados--and actually, the band formed in a basement! They're four friends who had three Top 10 hits in the UK in 2012, including Twilight, which went all the way to #1! They've also opened for artists like Rihanna and Kelly Clarkson. Now, they're based in DC, and they are currently busy touring colleges, universities and other U.S. venues.
