Gospel music superstar Kirk Franklin keeps his Grammys in the closet

- Gospel music superstar Kirk Franklin just released his eleventh album -- "Losing My Religion." The album deals with the personal relationship each person has with their faith rather than the rules and systems that he says keeps many millennials away from church.

"I want people to kind of see the relationship of love and grace instead of rules and laws that seem to separate people," Franklin said. "Just like marriage cannot guarantee intimacy, religion doesn't guarantee relationship."

His album, he says, tells a story that he wants to share with the world. His new single -- "Wanna Be Happy?" -- is currently number one on Billboard's hot gospel songs chart.

With so much of his time dedicated to making music, it's hard to believe he has time for anything else. But when he’s not busy, he loves a good movie! Franklin says he loves to take in great films and will be sure to check out new releases over the holidays.

So where does a 9-time Grammy award-winning recording artist keep his trophies? In the closet! "For me, I want to approach every album like it's my first," he said.
