FOX’s new comedy, The Grinder, follows a former actor, who played a lawyer on TV, and his belief that he can practice law in real life. Fred Savage and Mary Elizabeth Ellis star in the new show and sat down with FOX 5’s Kevin McCarthy to chat about the idea behind it and if they actually watch themselves on TV.
"When I did that show I was so young and completely unaware and lacked any sense of awareness," Savage said of his time on ‘The Wonder Years.’ He says he tried to get into that mindset when working on 'The Grinder.' "I try and do that. I feel like as an adult – all I am is hyper-aware."
Savage says he watches his new work and that his children have recently started watching his old work. He told Kevin his mother has recently introduced them to The Wonder Years.
