Fitness studio owners receive support from around the world after body-shaming hate-mail

- Earlier this year, Taryn Sisco and Megan Ellis opened a barre studio in Frederick, Maryland. The studio was designed for women who wanted to exercise in a judgement-free setting.

But they soon found they were the ones being judged after a woman clipped out a newspaper article featuring their business and filled it with hateful body shaming messages.

"We decided we could either fold it up and put it away and be sad and angry or we could put it out there and let our clients know that this is not okay, and you need to stand up for yourselves as women we can't do this to each other," said Taryn during an interview on FOX 5.

So they did just that. They decided on what they wanted to say and posted it online. Soon they realized they were getting responses from around the world.

The response was overwhelming, they said. People from around the world shared their own stories and have offered them their support.

The positive response made them realize that there are good people out there, Megan said.

"Maybe there's one negative - one bad apple – but there’s a ton of really positive wonderful people out there," Taryn said.

Oddly enough, the hate-mailer left a return address and even reached out to Taryn and Megan. They said the woman apologized and was also concerned that she would be identified.

Taryn and Megan say they forgive here – even if she only apologized just to save herself! They say even in her hate-mail she has started a great conversation and has given them so much support.
