WASHINGTON (FOX 5 DC) - If you had the opportunity to disconnect from social media for 365 days, would you give it a try? D.C. education advocate Darla Bunting has started a digital detox for 2016.
For the next year, the 30-year-old tells Good Day DC that she is giving up social media to reconnect with herself. That means no Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat or Twitter.
“I thought that I needed to make a major change and eliminate some distractions that are in my life,” Bunting said.
She previously took a month-long detox last September with her church, which she says made her feel more energized.
“Often when we’re so connected, we don’t get a chance to rest our minds and rest our brains,” said Bunting.
During her free time, she said she hopes to get more exercise.
