WASHINGTON - Ashley St. Clair is a survivor! She was diagnosed with acute promyelocytic leukemia, a rare subtype of acute myeloid leukemia which can be deadly if not diagnosed early.
Her path to recovery has not been easy. After her 2014 diagnosis, she underwent emergency brain surgery in addition to her chemotherapy. I was camping in the mountains of California and hiking -13 week later, I was dying,” she said," That’s how fast it came on."
Today, Ashley is cancer free and this weekend she’ll walk for those who still need help. She’s paying it forward!
"This is something that, 10 years ago, I would have died. No question about it. And now I'm cured. I'm not in remission, I'm cancer free. That's something I don't think would be any way possible with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society research."
