WASHINGTON - Robert Griffin III is a Redskin no more and now one of his former teammates is getting blasted on Twitter after a harsh critique of his tenure in D.C.
Former Washington Redskins tight-end Chris Cooley took shots at RGIII on the radio Monday saying that he never became friends with his eventual replacement Kirk Cousins. Cooley also spoke about Griffin’s relationship with the rest of the team, saying many of his teammates didn’t like playing with him.
According to Cooley, RGIII never took responsibility for his own play on the field, and the tight-end even used a profanity to describe quarterback.
His harsh critique drew backlash online when former and current teammates struck back.
Former Redskin Brian Orakpo issued a threat:
Get this BUM Chris Cooley off the radio and tv please... don't worry still got property in VA when I see him Ima smack the shit out of him— Brian Orakpo (@rak98) March 9, 2016
Redskins tight end Niles Paul also commented:
Can't keep shittin on people you worked with & called your teammates.— Niles Paul (@Niles_Paul84) March 9, 2016
After Chris Cooley's harsh criticism of former quarterback Robert Griffin III, even FOX 5’s Wisdom Martin called him out on the air.
“Let’s move on from RGIII – Chris Cooley – leave the man alone. He’s moved on – he’s no longer here. For some reason though, Cooley felt the need to keep doggin the guy – which I don’t think is appropriate – especially using the b-word,” he said.
