WASHINGTON - When award-winning actress Jamie Lee Curtis isn’t working on the set of her TV series, "Scream Queens," she’s busy writing books for children.
Her latest book, "THIS IS ME: A Story of Who We Are and Where We Came From," is described as a timely exploration of immigration and identity.
"This was book born out of two things - born out of a lesson that friend of mine does with her older kids about immigration and about the fact that none us are from here. That we all came here and our families came here with a suitcase in their hand." she said when describing the book to FOX 5's Allison Seymour.
The idea, she told Allison, is to image that you were leaving for a new country and could bring along only what fit in a small suitcase. What then would you bring?
By doing this, Curtis says, the read can answer questions about what best expresses who they are.
