DC Restaurant Week preview with Ardeo + Bardeo

If you’ve been waiting for the right time to branch out and try some D.C. restaurants you’ve never visited, the time has come. Summer Restaurant Week starts Monday, and we got a preview of what they’re serving up at Ardeo + Bardeo in Cleveland Park.

Recipe: Watermelon Salad with Cucumber, Mint and Greek Yogurt

Salad ingredients:

1 cup of watermelon, large diced

¼ each seedless cucumber, sliced thin

1 Tblsp apple cider vinegar

2 Tblsp EVOO

1 tsp of fresh ground cumin

Salt and Pepper to Taste

Small handful of Baby arugula

4 leaves of fresh mint, torn

STEPS:

1. Season watermelon and cucumber slices with salt, pepper and cumin. Then add vinegar and olive oil. Can be mixed and marinated up to 1 hour before serving.

2. Add the arugula and fresh torn mint and toss gently

3. Plate on a cold plate and garnish with yogurt. Enjoy!
