One question that all new moms and dads want to know the answer to is how to calm a crying baby.
Dr. Robert Hamilton, from California, says he has a method that will work almost every time.
His technique is called, ‘The Hold,’ and he demonstrated it in a new YouYube video posted online.
The doctor folds the baby’s left and right arms in together across the chest and secures them with his left hand. With his index finger and thumb, he braces the baby’s chin. The right hand is then placed on the baby’s bottom and the child is gently rocked or bounced up and down at a 45 degree angle.
Dr. Hamilton says if this doesn’t work – the baby may be hungry or not feeling well. He said ‘The Hold’ works for about the first 2 to 3 months before the baby becomes too heavy.
