ANNAPOLIS, Md. - You’ve seen Navy’s midshipmen strut their stuff in the hot, viral video 'Naptown Funk' – now, meet the creator and one of the stars.
Midshipman First Class Rylan Tuohy, who edited and produced the video, and one of the stars, Midshipman First Class Margo Darragh, chatted with us from Annapolis Thursday.
Tuohy said the idea for the project came to him last year. Once schedules were in place, he said he, Darragh, and more than 50 other midshipmen, shot all the scenes in one 4-hour day. The city of Annapolis was on-board all the way, Tuohy said, and shut down main streets so they could get the shots they needed.
It took about a week to edit and get it online, he said. Once it was posted it just took off.
"We had this idea and it's just really cool that everybody really likes it and is willing to share it and show the world," said Tuohy.
