'Bikers Against Bullies USA' fights bullying through education, outreach

- Bringing the coolness factor into educating kids about bullying and cyber-bullying is what Bikers Against Bullies USA is all about.

The national non-profit was created by bikers to raise awareness about the effects of bullying on young people through education, community outreach and fundraising.

"We come into the schools, the Boy's and Girl's Clubs, and basically teach them how to respect one another and themselves," said Jim Fowler, of Sick Sledz, a D.C. area custom motorcycle builder. Fowler said parents can access information online regarding bullying and teen suicide prevention.

Bikers Against Bullies USA also works to do away with the stereotype of bikers as being the people doing the bullying.

"It's a different angle. The kids are really attracted to these custom bikes," Fowler said.
