WASHINGTON - The game was played and the bet was paid! Prince George's County Executive Rushern Baker wore Hampton blue Monday morning on FOX 5 – not by choice – but because he was paying up after losing a friendly bet with our own Allison Seymour.
On Friday, Rushern, a Howard University alum, challenged, Allison, a Hampton University alum, to a bet – whoever’s team lost the big Howard vs. Hampton football classic over the weekend would wear the victor ‘s colors and publicly congratulate them.
After a tough Hampton team came out ahead with a 37-19 win over Howard, Rushern knew what he had to do.
"It looks good on you," said Allison, who was all smiles when she greeted Rushern Monday morning. "Congratulations on losing to the real HU."
"Congratulations, and for the first time in my life I’m going to say, Hampton is the real HU," he said.
Saying it once wasn’t enough for Allison who made him say it again. But this time, Rushern poked back and put on his Howard hat!
The two shared a few more jabs before Rushern updated Allison on news form Prince George's County.
Congratulations to Hampton University and to Howard University for a game well played and a bet well paid!
