11-year-old from PG County meets NBA star Kevin Durant, brings internet to tears

- A local boy from viral American Family Insurance Commercial shares his surprise experience meeting NBA star Kevin Durant--  FOX 5 anchor chokes up during interview.

Age is nothing but a number because 11-year-old James Jones, from Prince George's County, is inspiring people to dream fearlessly. Kind of like his hometown hero, Kevin Durant.

He told FOX 5's Holly Morris that his dream is to become a dancer so that he can entertain the world. Above all, he praises mom for being his number one supporter.

For James, his break in entertainment started when he went to a Black History Commercial. There, his cousin Malik noted huge potential in him. Malik went on to tell James's mother that he could do real big things if he wanted to.

Big, is right! Because James brought the internet to tears in a viral American Family Insurance Commercial that has over 2 millions views. Young James thought he was appearing on a television show to discuss how much his mom supports his dream to dance. What he didn't know was that his hometown hero, Golden State Warriors basketball player Kevin Durant, was watching him pray before "show time."

The real tearjerker was when he prayed for his mom to live a better life. Shortly after, Durant along with former baseball player Derek Jeter and football player J.J. Watt walked in to surprise James.

James and Kevin have a lot in common, both are from PG County, have supporting single moms, and dream big.

So when Holly Morris asked James if he saw Durant's famous MVP speech he did the unthinkable. With his mom on set, he said to her, "I want to say to you mommy, you're the real MVP of the year."

Are you crying yet? Because it certainly choked up Holly Morris. Holding back tears, she continued to ask about his prayer in the trailer.

"I really hate to see her struggle, and I want to do more acting and dancing stuff to help her," replied sweet James.

During his meeting with Durant, the basketball player wrote a note to James, that his own mother wrote for him. Durant told James he kept the note above his bed to see everyday.

The note read:

"Always believe everything is possible."

While it may not be above his bed, James told Holly that the note in his drawer and looks at it everyday.

In case you're wondering, he's a phenomenal dancer! Just look at his insane dance moves before going on set.
