Maryland Fleet Week celebrates rich naval history of the Chesapeake

- Maryland Fleet Week celebrates the rich naval traditions that can be found right here in the Chesapeake Bay region!

You can get up close to navy vessels that will be ready for boarding in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor, Fells Point and Locust Point throughout the week and weekend.

Fighter jets will also be on display at Martin State Airport in Middle River, Md.

FOX 5's Bob Barnard celebrated Maryland Fleet Week in one of the coolest ways possible – a chopper flight from Martin State Airport to the deck of the USS Leyte Gulf, a guided missile cruiser, that was waiting for him in the Chesapeake Bay. Next, the took a ride up the Chesapeake and under the Bay Bridge  on their way toward the Port of Baltimore.

Here is a list of activities so that you can celebrate Maryland Fleet Week: http://www.visitmaryland.org/things-to-do/fleet-week
