WASHINGTON - Her approach to potty-training has made her a guardian angel to many frustrated parents. And her online video has gone viral - thanks to her cute 2-year-old daughter's starring role. (WATCH THE VIDEO)
Stacia Wright, whose 'potty training song' staring her daughter, Ginneh, has been viewed over 1 million times online – says the song came to her off the top of her head.
"We sing a lot in our house and I know most parents sing to just do anything to bribe their kids to enjoy something they aren't naturally going to do," she said. She had success potty training her older son Jonathan in three days, however, the process wasn't going so smoothly with Ginneh. "I had to keep repeating the phrase 50,000 times - 'Tell mommy when you need to go potty. Tell mommy when you need to go potty' - and then I go, 'This sounds like a song!'"
She posted the song online and now Stacia says she's fielding potty-training questions from around the world. She’s says she's still working hard with Ginneh to get her to 100 percent.
One of the most important potty-training tips, Stacia says, is giving ownership of the process to the child. Instead of asking them if they need to go to the bathroom - have them tell you when they are ready to use it.
