Season of Wishes: 10-year-old boy who battled a hematologic disorder receives dream LEGO clubhouse

We want to introduce you to 10-year-old Eli Ervin from Upper Marlboro, Md. Eli had a hematologic disorder, which is a blood disorder. He was in treatment for a year, and underwent surgery.

Eli absolutely loves LEGOs. So when Make-A-Wish came to him, he knew exactly what he was going to wish for - A LEGO Clubhouse. His brothers tried to convince him to pick something like a Disney cruise or a big trip, so they could all participate, but Eli didn't budge. He was dead set on his LEGO Clubhouse.

He got his dream LEGO Clubhouse and has built numerous sets, including mind craft, a cafe and a bike shop, all thanks to Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic.

Eli is just one of the amazing kids we are going to meet this month as we partner with Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic for Season of Wishes.

FOX 5 DC Cares is our station's campaign to highlight the work of charitable organizations and non-profits in our community. We hope by partnering with these groups, we can help them get their message out and reach their goals.

We are teaming up with Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic for their Season of Wishes campaign. Over the next several weeks, we will be sharing the wonderful work Make-A-Wish does in our area and how you can be part of the magic.
