Ahn-young-ha-sae-yo! In case you didn't know, that means "hello" in Korean. I may have been born in Seoul, Korea and fluent in Korean, but I call the DMV my home!

My path to FOX 5 is an interesting one, filled with devotion, hard work and a little bit of luck. It goes all the way back to 2004 when I started as an intern...and never left! I was offered a position in the newsroom a day before I graduated from George Mason University. Over the past 11 years, I worked my way up the ladder so to speak, taking on nearly every possible job in the newsroom -- from assignment editor to writer, to traffic producer to segment producer, to fill-in feature reporter to now full time anchor/reporter. I've contributed to our coverage of major stories including the 9/11 Pentagon Memorial Dedication, Presidential Elections, Virginia and Maryland Governor's Races, D.C. Mayoral Races, and much more.

Some of my more interesting assignments have been learning how to trapeze, flying with members of the Andrews Air Show, and I even had the rare opportunity to go behind the scenes with working military dogs at Andrews Air Force Base. I also helped find permanent homes for lost and abused animals for many years through our "Fox Fursday" segments.

My family moved from Korea to Northern Virginia when I was just three. I've been a "local gal" ever since. My interest in TV news began at a very young age, and I always knew I wanted to become a journalist. I consider it a privilege to live and do what I love most in my hometown. D.C. has a very special place in my heart. This is where my parents' dreams were born. They moved my sister and I to the states in search of better opportunities. We came here with very little -- less than $5,000 and one great big luggage packed with clothes and a few family heirlooms. After years of working many jobs, my parents were able to save enough money to start a small business in Alexandria, Virginia. They eventually moved on, and began a restaurant in Northwest D.C., near Howard University. Growing up, I remember tagging along with my parents to the restaurant and playing in the streets with the neighborhood kids. Now, here I am working for the people who live in these neighborhoods and across the region. It is truly an honor.

I also had the privilege of cheering on our local team, the Washington Redskins, from 2008-2010! It was an amazing ride filled with community service and entertaining members of the armed services and thousands of football fans.

Outside of work, I'm passionate about fashion/beauty, travel, golf, crafts, and trying new foods!

As a reporter in the nation's capital, I can tell you that there is never a dull moment! So don't miss out and tune in to FOX 5 News! Join me as I co-anchor Saturday and Sunday mornings from 7-9 a.m., and don't miss my live reports during the week on FOX 5 News Morning and Good Day DC.

If you see me out and about, I hope you stop and say hello because I'd love to meet you. We can take a #selfie!
